Role Summary

As a Laravel Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust back-end systems and RESTful APIs using the Laravel framework. You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and designers to deliver clean, secure, and scalable code that powers our web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy new features and modules using Laravel (PHP 8.x) and MySQL/PostgreSQL.

Design and build scalable, secure, and well-documented RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following PSR standards and SOLID principles.

Design database schemas using Laravel Migrations and write complex queries using Eloquent ORM, including relationships and custom scopes.

Implement caching strategies using Redis or Memcached and optimize application performance.

Build interactive front-end components using Blade templates, Livewire, or integrate with modern JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js or React (depending on project needs).

Write automated tests using PHPUnit or Pest to ensure code reliability and stability.

Debug and resolve technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab in a CI/CD environment.

Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.

Maintain and improve legacy codebases while gradually migrating to modern practices.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

3+ years of professional experience in PHP development with a strong focus on Laravel.

Deep understanding of MVC architecture and object-oriented programming (OOP).

Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) including query optimization and schema design.

Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs with authentication (OAuth, JWT, Sanctum/Passport).

Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies.

Solid understanding of web security best practices (CSRF, XSS, SQL Injection, etc.).

Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.

Experience with queues, jobs, and event-driven architecture in Laravel.

Soft Skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and serverless architectures.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).

Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).

Experience with microservices architecture.

Contributions to open-source Laravel packages or projects.

Certification in Laravel or PHP is a plus.
