This is exactly what I learned from Well Operations Crew Resource Management (WOCRM) – a key program introduced by International Well Control Forum.
What I found most significant in Well Operations Crew Resource Management (WOCRM) are these principles:
Situational Awareness – the ability to fully understand and respond to surrounding conditions. Recognizing even the smallest changes in the environment
Decision Making & Leadership – effective leaders manage risks, guide the team, and ensure clear communication.
Communication & Teamwork – complex operations demand solid coordination, not just one-way instructions.
Workload & Stress Management – managing both mental and physical pressures to keep the crew focused, safe, and efficient.
What makes this concept even more valuable is its broad relevance. These principles aren't only relevant in the Oil & Gas Industry, but also widely applicable in industries mining, construction, and any environment where teamwork, high risk, and rapid decision-making intersect.
For me personally, this program provided a new perspective: workplace safety isn't only about procedures, but also about people and their interactions.
