Graduation Project For Emergency Hospital in Delta Egypt

I’m proud to share that I’ve successfully completed my Graduation Project from the Faculty of Engineering – Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Class of 2025

The project was titled:

"Electrical Design for an Emergency Hospital in Cairo"

Supervised by Prof. Dr. Eng. Abdelaziz Mahmoud Abdelaziz

The hospital consists of 13 floors and includes 250 inpatient beds, covering critical departments such as surgery and orthopedics.

The project involved a complete electrical design in accordance with the Egyptian Code for Electrical Installations, including:

Load Estimation – Accurate calculation of total electrical demand

Lighting System – Design based on required lux levels, visual comfort, and code compliance

Small Power System – Distribution of socket outlets and power supply for devices

HVAC Power Supply – Power provisioning for air-conditioning and ventilation systems

Panel Schedule – Proper load distribution across main and subpanels

Bulk Equipment Schedule – Identification and proper supply of major electrical equipment

Voltage Drop & Short Circuit Calculations (V.D & S.C) – To ensure operational efficiency and safety

Single Line Diagram (SLD) – Complete schematic layout of the electrical distribution system

Low Current Systems, including:

  - Fire Alarm System

  - Data and Telephone System

  - CCTV Surveillance System

️ In addition to the hospital building, the project also included the design of a Service Building, which contains:

Transformers – Supplying the hospital with medium voltage, stepped down to low voltage

Diesel Generator – Providing backup power for emergency and life safety loads

Main Electrical Panels, including:

  - Main Distribution Board (MDB)

  - Emergency Main Distribution Board (EMDB)

Project deliverables also included:

Complete Layout Drawings – For lighting, power, and low current systems

Bill of Quantities (BOQ) – Listing of materials and estimated quantities for implementation
