Medical artificial intelligence

Purpose:

This assignment is mandatory in this course and is designed to serve as an active learning approach in which students are asked to engage with course materials and practice learning activities, e.g. writing, talking, problem solving, thinking or presenting that material. In this assignment, students are expected to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of principles and practices associated with the adoption of Medical Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare setting. In this vein, students are encouraged to move beyond the material presented in the class towards unveiling the extent to which medical AI is likely to increase patient care practices. Assignment as such would serve to have students think about the material presented in the course “extant clinical Information Systems” along with their shortfalls; and potentially relate them to AI's abilities to improve patient outcomes when used at the point of care.
