Several reasons push me to strongly admire the values and principles followed by Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi during his fruitful history. His humanitarian work has inspired many officials, presidents, and others. As he played a tangible role in the humanitarian, cultural, and political work in Palestinian society, particularly in the Gaza Strip. By supporting the vulnerable, he influenced many of those who believe in the culture and values of social justice and solidarity.

Dr. Haider established and strengthened relations with Palestinian allies in different countries. I am deeply moved by his achievements, which had significant impacts on supporting and promoting the Palestinian cause. Many official bodies are trying their best to provide such achievements despite the issues they face according to the current situation under siege, which is considered the main obstacle to contacting the outside. Generally, we realize that electronic communication is limitless and spans the entire globe, yet it is not sufficient by itself when compared with actual meetings and real events that can be held to improve our situation. The borders of the country and the difficulty of travel and movement play a massive role in complicating any communication process.

His features and values have emerged in his ability to sincerely explain his humanitarian profession since the forties of the last century. Treating poor patients who went to his clinic in the center of Gaza City for free is an example of his charitable actions. We do witness several charities and non-profit initiatives with the same aim these days. Nevertheless, these are not the targets for today's generations due to the high rate of unemployment, which increases insanely with every annual batch of graduates. Obtaining a normal office job with a month's salary has become the dominant dream of our community's youth.

Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi focused on respecting the values of work, education, sincerity, discipline, and paying attention to the interests of citizens, and he had never been interested in any authoritarian positions. On the contrary, what we entrust, other politicians are willing to do anything to get these positions.

Everyone in our community should work for peace and altruism and should not succumb to any political, social, or economic pressures that may cause harm to others. I am aware that this is a really challenging principle, but that doesn’t mean it's not applicable. One should start by changing their ideologies before trying to change others.
