Establishing Strategic Portfolio Management Office - Poultry Company
The client was looking to transform its business model and shift to a value-chain-driven organization. The client worked in the past few months in redefining its strategy and landed on a 5 years business strategy.
The Five Years business strategy suggested implementing a number of initiatives and projects that will improve the company's growth, profitability, and market share. The company was aiming for achieving over than $100 million as an annual income by the end of year five of the strategy
The objective of my role is to establish a Strategic Office that will act as a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) that will assist in driving the implementation of five years business strategy.
My scope was to deliver the below milestones:
1- Establish project control, governance, and reporting tools
2- Create detailed implementation plans aligned with strategy objectives
3- Identify project deliverables, artifacts, and milestones
4- Assist in project internal sourcing and outsourcing
5- Coach and train the client team members for seamless project implementation
6- Manage project execution in alignment with the project plan, PMI standards, and business strategy recommendations.
7- Manage task assignments to project resources.
8- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions
9- Propose corrective and mitigation actions and monitor actions execution during the project lifecycle
10- Establish project progress and health indicators
11- Report periodically project status updates to CEO's office
12- Measure project's successful implementation as per Strategy recommendations and expectations
13- Escalate deviations, risks, and impediments to CEO and propose rectifications when needed
