It is my first short film, it is also my very first work as a filmmaker ( Directing - Videography - Video editing ). The film won the British Council Competition for Cultural Projects and Supported by New Hermopolis foundation . it took 8 months to finish the film.
The film deals with the way of making the most famous traditional food in Upper Egypt (the kishk) which back to Pharaohs and its associated habits which are done in a complex way that began to disappear in recent years. The film records some things related to the kiosk industry that began to disappear in Upper Egypt, such as (the silo) where the " kishk "and dates preserved and its history extends to The Pharaohs era. Also ( Karba ) which made of goat skin to shake the milk in it to separate the fat from the milk and it began to disappear and the know use machines to separate the fat from the milk.
As well as the film recorded an ancient heritage songs that women used to sing during making the "kishk" .
