What is a Competency Model?

A Competency Model is the collectivity of selected competencies in one framework, which forms the foundation for all the HR systems that are executed to ensure a continuous development process of any organization’s most important asset being it’s; “Human Capital” to achieve organizational objectives.

A Competency Model also encompasses a set of values, which govern the way a Company Management deals internally; with Employees and amongst each other, and externally; with the suppliers and customers.

The Values of an organization are driven and inspired from the Company’s mission statement, which should clearly outline the reason for the organizations existence and the different beneficiaries of its existence.
