Fund Flow — Production Android Application

Designed, developed, and published Fund Flow on Google Play, a privacy-first, offline-first personal finance application built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The application helps users manage multiple funds, track income and expenses, transfer balances, generate financial reports, and back up their data locally without accounts or cloud services.

Engineering & Implementation

• Designed the application using MVVM and Clean Architecture principles with the Repository Pattern, separating UI, state management, business logic, persistence, preferences, and infrastructure responsibilities.

• Built the UI with Jetpack Compose and reusable components, supporting both light and dark themes while using Coroutines, Flow, and StateFlow for reactive and predictable state management.

• Implemented local data persistence with Room and DataStore and applied Hilt for dependency injection, keeping financial data on-device and the codebase maintainable.

• Centralized financial business rules in the Repository layer, using reusable transaction workflows for income, expenses, updates, deletions, and fund transfers.

• Built a reactive reporting pipeline that dynamically updates Room queries based on the selected fund, date range, and available transaction data.

• Implemented local backup and restore using Kotlin Serialization and JSON, supporting separate manual and automatic backup workflows with local file management and retention shandling.

• Worked across the full development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to debugging, refactoring, testing, Google Play release, and ongoing maintenance.
