Medical Diagnosis Expert System is a rule-based expert system developed to assist with telemedicine triage by providing an initial clinical assessment based on patient-reported symptoms, health indicators, and medical history. The system uses Certainty Factor (CF) reasoning to evaluate evidence and generate a ranked list of possible diagnoses, assign an urgency level, and recommend appropriate next steps. It supports three independent diagnostic domains—Respiratory & Fever, Gastrointestinal, and Neurological—covering 18 common medical conditions, including high-risk emergencies such as Pneumonia, Appendicitis, Stroke, and Meningitis. To improve transparency, the system also provides a complete decision trace explaining how each diagnosis was reached, making it suitable as a decision-support tool rather than a replacement for professional medical judgment
