The Smart Hospital Integrated Care and Resource Orchestration System (SH-ICROS) is a formal model of a large teaching hospital's operational infrastructure. The Emergency Department (ED), Inpatient Wards, Operating Theatres (OT), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Diagnostic Services (Laboratory and Radiology), and Pharmacy are among the key clinical areas where the system coordinates patient care paths. Enforcing conflict-free, priority-aware resource allocation while upholding clinical safety invariants and a thorough audit trail of all state transitions is its key goal.
The system's multi-actor workflows support six staff roles: clinicians, nurses, porters, pharmacists, schedulers, and bed managers. Each role interacts with the system through a specific set of actions in accordance with compliance requirement C2, and role-based permissions restrict access.
