Heat Therapy System I called CUREX (as cure Unknown, X here means rheumatoid arthritis ) is a smart glove that delivers real-time hot/cold therapy for joint pain relief — designed for astronauts experiencing rheumatoid-like symptoms in zero gravity, and applicable to patients on Earth. Built as a fully integrated
hardware-software prototype under competition conditions.
:The Problem
Astronauts in space face prolonged exposure to zero gravity, which weakens bones and muscles and causes joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation — symptoms similar to rheumatoid arthritis. With limited medical equipment available and continuous painkiller use causing long-term side effects, there is a clear need for a drug-free, real-time pain management solution.
The Solution
:CUREX is a wearable smart glove that
Delivers targeted heat therapy (38°C–42°C) to stimulate blood circulation and reduce muscle stiffness -
Delivers targeted cold therapy (15°C–20°C) to reduce inflammation and swelling -
Monitors the user's condition in real time via onboard sensors -
Transmits live health data to a mobile/web dashboard over WiFi -
Built with Arduino Language + sum html to create dashboards for displaying results
