Teaching, research, and service philosophy

I am inspired to strive for excellence in all three areas of academe: teaching, research and service. Below I describe my accomplishments and future plans for each area.

I.Overview of Teaching:

From the beginning, I am passionate about higher education. It's my priority and I'm dedicated to that.

I have taught eight different courses over the last three years. Three of the courses that I teach are at the master’s degree and five are at the bachelor's Degree.

- Management (1st year degree in management)

- Entrepreneurship (2nd year degree in management)

-Information and Communication Technologies (1st year degree in management)

- Corporate culture II (2rd year license)

- Corporate culture III (3rd year license)

- Systems Management (1st year professional Master)

- Business Management (1st year Professional Master)

-Creation of enterprise and partnership (1st year professional master)

Methods

In my opinion, teaching methods should go beyond traditional courses, of which students are only receptive. Today, students have a lot to contribute; and therefore, teachers should give them the freedom to express their views...

Several incorporate mixed-methods should be used to involve as many students as possible. These methods are diverse. We can mention among them:

Videos, personal research, paper writing, group exercises, conference presentations, collaborative research, case study and animated course (by innovative software such as prezi...).

So, I tried to create an attractive environment using images, videos ... and even educational games. Also, teamwork has a very positive effect on the best conduct of class sessions.

Teamwork awakens the productive competitive feeling between teams and even within a team.

Nowadays, we have to accept that many students see university as little more than a means of obtaining a degree and that what they are learning does not reflect the real world.

In this case, the role of the teacher is to convince them that there is a close relationship between higher education and the entrepreneurial ecosystem by citing examples and concrete cases of the market.

Effectiveness

The effectiveness of teaching can be measured primarily by student assessments before the end of the semester.

That is, the evolution of students understanding during the semester and their increased interests in the subject matter are the most important signs that signify the effectiveness of teaching.

At the end of the semesters, I asked the students to evaluate the courses and to suggest new proposals. I received an excellent reviews. I appreciated the students' proposals and innovative ideas and I took them into consideration.

That has always encouraged me and led me to look for the best tools and strategies to make the courses more comprehensible and effective for students.

II.Overview of Research:

I am a behavioral scientist. I have a background in management, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and digital entrepreneurship providing particular social understandings and research perspectives. I expect quickly to be able to publish a significant number of journal articles.

My scholarship is grounded in theories and methods found in the field of entrepreneurship particularly social entrepreneurship and digital entrepreneurship.

I am very interested in studying the impacts of entrepreneurship on the economic, social and cultural environment of countries.

My Master's thesis is a qualitative study of which I studied the impact of social partnership between non-profit organizations (in different fields such as childhood, health, education ...) and for-profit enterprises, on the social environment, an empirical validation of the Tunisian context.

I am interested in descriptive and interventional research studies conducted in the entrepreneurial ecosystem that will demonstrate the effectiveness of entrepreneurship to reduce the unemployment and consequently the rate of poverty in the world.

Research themes

My research primarily falls into the following four themes:

Theme 1: Entrepreneurship as a means of support for growth and employment.

Theme 2: Digital social entrepreneurship as a catalyst for female entrepreneurship.

Theme 3: social entrepreneurship in health care sector and it effect on quality service

Theme 4: Fight against antisocial entrepreneurship

Effectiveness

Effectiveness in research can be measured by the application of outcomes to real world structures, book publications, conference presentations, invited lectures and specially, by academic article publication.
