Power BI Banking Loan Risk Analysis Dashboard
I developed a comprehensive Banking Loan Risk Analysis Dashboard using Microsoft Power BI to help financial institutions monitor loan performance, assess credit risk, and identify patterns in loan defaults.
The dashboard provides a high-level overview of the bank’s loan portfolio through key financial indicators such as Total Loan Amount, Defaulted Amount, Non-Defaulted Amount, and Default Rate. These metrics allow decision-makers to quickly evaluate the overall health of the loan portfolio and measure credit risk exposure.
The dashboard also includes several analytical visualizations that provide deeper insights into borrower behavior and loan performance:
• Loan Status Distribution: A visual breakdown showing the proportion of defaulted versus non-defaulted loans, helping the bank understand overall loan performance.
• Loan Amount by Loan Status: Compares the total value of loans that have defaulted versus those successfully repaid, highlighting financial risk exposure.
• Loan Purpose of Non-Defaulted Customers: Identifies the most common purposes among successful borrowers, such as education, venture funding, and personal loans.
• Loan Purpose of Defaulters: Analyzes which loan purposes are more associated with default risk, providing valuable insights for improving lending policies.
• Loan Grade Analysis of Defaulters: Evaluates default distribution across different credit grades, helping risk managers understand how borrower creditworthiness relates to loan default behavior.
• Defaulted vs Non-Defaulted Loan Comparison: A comparative analysis that clearly shows the financial impact of defaulted loans versus performing loans.
This dashboard transforms raw banking data into actionable financial insights, enabling banks to improve credit evaluation processes, reduce loan default risk, and make more informed lending decisions.
