Design of an Injection Mold for an Aeronautical Component — Hutchinson (CATIA V5)

تفاصيل العمل

During my internship at Hutchinson, I designed a complete injection mold for a small aeronautical component using CATIA V5. The design features a two-part mold assembly consisting of an upper cavity block (shown in orange) and a lower core block (shown in blue), which together define the final geometry of the molded part. The lower block incorporates a carefully shaped cavity with smooth curved surfaces to ensure proper material flow and part release. The mold also includes a mounting and ejection system visible at the base, with alignment screws and guide components to guarantee precise positioning and repeatability during the injection process. The design takes into account key manufacturing constraints such as draft angles, parting line definition, and component assembly, reflecting a thorough understanding of both mold design principles and aeronautical industry standards.
