Modelling and Simulation of Electric Vehicle using MATLAB/Simulink

A simulation-based study was conducted to analyze the relationship between battery capacity and electric vehicle range using a Tesla Model S with an 85 kWh battery pack. MATLAB and Simulink were used to model the vehicle and simulate its performance under the US06 driving cycle, which represents realistic high-speed driving conditions. The study evaluated how driving dynamics affect energy consumption and investigated the effect of regenerative braking on extending the vehicle’s electric range. The results also provided insights into appropriate battery sizing for optimizing electric vehicle performance and range.
