Project Description: Semi-Seniors '26 Hoodie Collection
I designed a versatile back-print collection for the Physiotherapy Semi-Senior class of 2026. The goal was to create a cohesive yet diverse set of designs that celebrate the students' journey, their profession, and their local identity in Port Said.
Design Concepts & Styles
The collection features two distinct aesthetic directions:
Varsity Style: A classic, bold approach using heavy typography and academic elements like the graduation cap. It’s designed to evoke a sense of pride and "seniority" within the university.
Retro & Illustrative Style: A more artistic direction incorporating iconic Port Said landmarks, such as the historic lighthouse. I used a more organic layout, blending Arabic calligraphy with vintage-inspired illustrations and medical motifs like the heartbeat line.
The Creative Process
Symbolism: Each element was carefully chosen—from the "First to suffer, First to rise" slogan to the subtle inclusion of the Flamingo, a symbol tied to the coastal identity.
Color Harmony: I spent considerable time balancing the color palette. Using a navy base, I implemented "matching colors" across the typography and illustrations—specifically choosing warm cream and muted grey tones—to ensure the designs pop while maintaining a sophisticated, professional look.
Iteration: The process involved multiple stages of refining the hierarchy of the elements so that the year "2026" and the "Semi-Seniors" title remain the focal points across different layout styles.
The result is a collection that feels like a "brand" for the class, combining medical pride with local heritage.
