A Science fiction story

I wrote this story because I wanted to participate in a writing competition about a science-fiction topic in 2020. It was about a little girl called Janette who sees strange visions while sleeping and concludes that something unusual is going to happen to the world. During a trip to her ancestors’ mansion, she is amazed by the magnificence of the place. She becomes fascinated by a hanging poster that depicts one of her bearded scholar ancestors, William, who is holding a gigantic ruby. Things begin to get strange after three days, and her obsession slowly starts to spill into the real world.
