"The Visitor Who Never Arrived" is a haunting, atmospheric short story that unfolds in "The Groves," a neighborhood defined by ancient orange trees and stone houses. At its center is "The Watchtower" villa, known not for its beauty, but for its line of mysterious residents.

The last of these is Nazar, an old man who restores antique clocks and lives a solitary life, spending his days on the balcony staring fixedly at the locked gate. The quiet of his existence is shattered one Thursday at 4:00 AM when a faint, rhythmic chime—like an old clock mechanism setting itself—is heard by a neighbor.

The narrative quickly shifts to the afternoon when police find Nazar, having passed away peacefully in his usual chair, as if he simply fell asleep.
