I built a star schema model and applied advanced DAX measures such as SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR, SWITCH, USERELATIONSHIP, YTD, VAR RETURN, ALL, and EXCEPT. I also created multiple KPIs including return rate, profit margin, profit YoY%, cost YoY%, sales YoY%, % sales amount by continent, clicks YTD, clicks change%, and clicks LY.
After analysis, I observed a sales decline over the years. Digging deeper, I found that 2011 was the strongest year in both sales and profit, while 2012 and 2013 showed a sharp decline. Investigating order amounts and deliveries revealed that delivery delays were the main cause of the decline in 2012–2013. Product performance also shifted: desktops ranked #4 in 2011 but disappeared in the following years, while laptops were not sold in 2011 yet became best-sellers in 2012–2013, though with higher return rates than desktops.
From these insights, I recommended enhancing logistics and delivery speed, focusing on seasonal demand patterns, aligning promotions with peak months, and monitoring laptop return rates to improve customer satisfaction.
