Proud to present my solar-powered product design project called (Smartsip Spot) created for the New and Renewable Energies course!
This project was a journey through every stage of the design process:
1-Conducting research and developing ideas.
2- Sketching creative concepts.
3- Selecting and testing materials.
4- Crafting a 1:10 scale prototype.
5- Using natural wood and steel to build the final product.
6- Finishing it with care for the polished result you see now.
A big part of this project involved learning Arduino programming with the help of a talented Mechatronics Engineering colleague to bring the design to life! Hoda Alafifi
The final product is an outdoor coffee table designed for cafés, and it’s packed with practical features:
A built-in waste box for leftover drinks, equipped with a sensor that sounds an alert when full.
Integrated lighting for outdoor use.
Convenient mobile charging ports for customers to use anytime.
This project combined creativity, functionality, and sustainability, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
