Network Security Project – Small Office Network
Project Description
Designed and implemented a secure small office network using Cisco Packet Tracer.
The network included two departments (HR & IT), each configured on separate VLANs, with a central router performing Inter-VLAN routing (Router-on-a-Stick). DHCP was configured to automatically assign IP addresses, and a dedicated web server was deployed for internal services.
Access Control Lists (ACLs) were applied to enforce security policies, restricting unauthorized access between departments.
Objectives
Simulate a real-world company network environment.
Implement segmentation using VLANs for security and efficiency.
Enable communication between VLANs via routing.
Automate IP management with DHCP.
Apply security policies using ACLs.
Test and validate connectivity and access rules.
Technical Skills Used
VLAN Configuration (Segmentation of HR and IT departments).
