Designed and implemented a campus/university network system connecting two campuses located 20 miles apart.
- Main Campus included three buildings hosting administrative staff, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Engineering & Computing, and Faculty of Art & Design.
- Smaller campus hosted the Faculty of Health and Sciences.
Key tasks and skills applied:
- Created separate IP networks for each faculty/department.
- Configured VLANs and security settings on switches to manage traffic and improve security.
- Implemented routing protocols for internal routers and static routing for external cloud-based email server.
- Configured router-based DHCP for dynamic IP address allocation in administrative areas.
- Deployed university web server and other internal servers in the IT department.
- Used Packet Tracer to simulate the entire network topology with full connectivity and functionality.
Skills demonstrated: Network design, VLAN configuration, routing protocols, DHCP, Packet Tracer simulation, IT infrastructure planning, network security basics.
