Warehouse Project – Online Bookstore Operations

In this project, I designed and implemented a complete Data Warehouse solution for an online bookstore that operates exclusively through digital payments. The main objectives were to analyze sales performance, monitor cancellations and returns, and identify customer preferences.

Key Highlights:

Business Case: Online bookstore with digital payments, shipping policies, and cancellation/return conditions.

Business Questions Addressed:

What is the total sales performance?

How many orders were successfully delivered vs. placed?

What is the impact of returns and cancellations on revenue?

Which books are top-selling and reflect customer preferences?

How does revenue trend by month/quarter (seasonality & growth)?

Which shipping methods are most preferred?

Data Modeling: Designed both OLTP and dimensional models.

DWH Schema: Built a physical schema for the Data Warehouse.

ETL Processes: Developed using SSIS for:

Dimensions: Author, Book, Book_Author, Customer

Fact Table: Sales and Transactions

Data Cleaning: Managed missing values and ensured data consistency.

This project allowed me to apply the full lifecycle of a Data Warehouse implementation — from requirements gathering, data modeling, ETL development, to reporting — delivering insights that can guide real business decisions.
