Network Configuration Assistant — Design & Implementation

Short description (one paragraph)

A Python application that generates complete Cisco CLI configuration commands from simple user input. The user fills forms (hostname, interfaces, IP addresses, VLANs, routing, ACLs, etc.), and the program outputs ready-to-copy Cisco IOS commands (line by line) that can be pasted into device consoles or uploaded via SSH. The tool is intended for network engineers and students to speed up configuration tasks and avoid manual typing errors.

Interactive input (CLI prompts or a simple Tkinter GUI) to collect configuration data.

Template-based command generation (Cisco IOS templates).

Support for interfaces, VLANs, static routes, OSPF (basic), and ACLs.

Validation of IP addresses and subnet overlaps.

Export to .txt / .cfg and copy-to-clipboard.

Optional: deploy via SSH (Paramiko) or save device backup before applying.
