Half Wave Rectifier Simulation
In this project, I simulated a Half Wave Rectifier using Proteus.
Objective: Demonstrate the basic principle of converting AC to DC using a single diode.
Components: Step-down transformer, one diode (1N4004), a capacitor filter, and load resistor.
Process:
The AC signal is passed through the transformer.
Only the positive half cycles are allowed by the diode, while the negative half cycles are blocked.
A capacitor filter is used to reduce ripples and improve DC output.
Result: The oscilloscope displays a rectified waveform with noticeable ripples compared to the full-wave rectifier.
