Configuration and Design of Office Data Communication Room

Project Description:

I was responsible for the complete design and configuration of the Data Communication Room at the XXX office. The work involved planning the network layout, selecting the proper hardware, and implementing configuration to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

Designed full rack layout including Core, Distribution, and Access layers.

Installed and configured Cisco and Fortinet devices, including:

FortiGate 201F Firewalls With HA

Cisco Catalyst Core Switches (C9500 series)

Cisco Edge Switches

Cisco Distribution Switches

Implemented structured cabling with 48-port UTP Patch Panels and Wire Managers to ensure clean cable management.

Configured 12 Access Switches distributed over 2 racks with patch panel mapping and labeling.

Installed and integrated:

RADUIS Server

Wireless Controllers

IP Telephony Gateways

SCCM and File Servers

HikVision Video Recorder (NVR) for surveillance integration

Applied VLAN segmentation, DHCP relay setup, and Advanced firewall policies for secure internal traffic flow.

Coordinated with the systems and security team to ensure full integration between network, access control, and surveillance systems.
