This is an interesting Chinese myth that tells the story of a monster resembling a dragon, with a lion's head and a dog's body, bulging eyes, large prominent fangs, called Nian. Nian used to dwell in the high mountains or deep seas, suffering from severe hunger in winter. When Nian is hungry, a disaster struck! It would attack villagers in search of prey to eat, causing great distress to the villagers. They decided to leave the village each year before Nian reappeared. However, a strange visitor arrived in the village when all the villagers had already started to leave before the monster Nian's appearance. The visitor
