School Electrical Design Project – Complete Revit Implementation
As part of my practical training in electrical power distribution, I successfully completed a full electrical design project for a school building using Autodesk Revit.
The scope of the project included:
Lighting and Power Layouts: Complete lighting distribution, socket outlets, and circuit connections for all classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Panel Board Design: Creating and configuring distribution panels, assigning circuits, and managing load balancing.
Single Line Diagram (SLD): Automatically generated SLD from Revit, accurately reflecting the real-time electrical system.
Cable Routing: Routing of conduits and cable trays in coordination with architectural and HVAC elements, using 3D views and clash detection.
Lighting Calculation & Code Compliance: Ensured proper illumination levels across all rooms based on standards and provided emergency lighting for escape routes.
Schedules and BOQ: Generated detailed schedules for fixtures, panels, and circuits along with a Bill of Quantities for materials and equipment.
This project demonstrates my ability to manage a full electrical design lifecycle within a BIM environment, focusing on coordination, accuracy, and clarity. It also reflects my hands-on skills with Revit MEP, electrical standards, and documentation suitable for real-world engineering projects.
