Reappropriation of paintings in photography, for me, is about recreating or referencing iconic artworks through my lens — not to copy them, but to transform their original meaning and reflect new cultural, social, or personal narratives.
Through this process, I pay homage to art history while also questioning and updating it — replacing historical contexts with modern realities, shifting power dynamics, or introducing new identities into familiar compositions.
I don't aim to imitate. Instead, I challenge, reinterpret, and personalize these visuals — offering a fresh perspective that invites the viewer to see something old in an entirely new way.
