Production of Benzene via Hydrodealkylation of Toluene (HDA) using Aspen HYSYS software.

تفاصيل العمل

In our project, the focus lies on simulating the benzene production process through the hydrodealkylation of toluene utilizing Aspen HYSYS. The approach involves a detailed examination of each individual piece of equipment within the process, such as distillation columns and separators. The utilization of the cut method enhances our understanding by providing additional insights, particularly in scenarios involving recycle streams.

Subsequently, a transition to a more rigorous methodology is planned, involving the application of numerical methods to solve the entire process platform. This entails a comprehensive analysis, and adjustments to data may be made iteratively to optimize the simulation efficiency. The combined use of these methods aims to achieve a thorough and accurate representation of the benzene production process, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the simulation in Aspen HYSYS.

We calculate the minimum number of trays , the economically optimum number of theoretical trays and the theoretical one.

Although the minimum reflux ratio Rmin and Economical optimum reflux ratio.

To calculate the relative volatility that we used to find what I mentioned before , we must find the vapor pressure for the light and heavy key in the top and bottom at specific temperature , it’s found from thermo-solver.

For reflux ratio and no. of trays we found the compositions of benzene and toluene in the feed , top and the bottom.
