LEILNILE _ Senior Project

GDIS senior project at LIU Bekaa - Spring 2019 ..

The project is about healthy energy drink extracted from licorice root. The licorice is an herbaceous pereminal legume plant that found in the Middle East, Southern Europe, and parts of Asia. It is as well-known that most of the civilizations used this plant throughout history for healthy purposes.

Licorice root, also known as the sweet root, is used mostly as a sweetener in candies and beverages. Although it is not medically proven yet, the sweet root has been used for medical benefits for centuries. Further, some religions went to the extreme by referring to the licorice as a holistic plant.

According to the research on the Pharaonic civilization, which is the most powerful throughout history, some licorice seeds were found in the tomb of king Tutankhamun in 1923. It is said that Pharaohs used this type of seeds to treat most of the digestive problems. ( Idea & Concept )

/Leilnile/ the name of the product reflects to the Pharaonic culture, as it is the civilization that valued the licorice plant the most. Pharaohs worshiped the sun and had several sun gods (Ra, Amon, Aten, etc.) in their religion, and they built their civilization around the Nile and many hypothesis say that the Pharaohs built their pyramids to reach the sun.

Soleil ______ leil means night in Arabic (relaxing & taking energy)

Nile ______ the river of Pharaohs

Leil + Nile = LEILNILE

The project consists of full visual identity including logo, business stationery, packaging, advertising, and pictograms.
