Taha Hussein, one of the famous Egyptian writers, was born on November 4, 1889 in Egypt. He was blinded at the beginning of his life, but he overcame all the circumstances he faced from poverty and blindness, until he became one of the leading cultural figures in Egypt.

Although he became blind as a young child, he did not give up, and continued to go to his lessons and memorize the Qur’an, and after that he went to study at Al-Azhar School in Cairo with his brother, in which he learned a lot from the origins of the Islamic religion and related topics, in addition to his deep study For grammar, rhetoric and other disciplines in the Arabic language.

After that, he joined the Egyptian University, through which he became acquainted with the Egyptian and European cultures, and then obtained his first doctorate degree from the university. As a result of Taha Hussein’s perseverance and hard work, he obtained an educational scholarship at a university in France. Besides all this, Taha Hussein loved literature very much. Therefore, he wrote many short stories and novels, and in 1951 Taha Hussein assumed the position of Minister of Education in Egypt.

Taha Hussein married a French woman, and they had one daughter. It is worth noting that Taha wrote his diaries, which were then compiled in a book. To this day, modern generations learn from him how to persevere and defy all circumstances and obstacles in order to achieve dreams. All those years, the name of Taha Hussein is still remembered with pride and respect. He was poor and blind, but he stuck to his dream of studying and going to Al-Azhar, and continued until he became a minister
