Loss of compression in a diesel engine
There are many causes that lead to losing compression in diesel engines. One of these causes is blown head gasket. At the top of the engine, the head gasket is connected to the cylinder. If there is any problem, you can see a gap between the cylinder and the head. The gas will escape the cylinder leading to low compression. The source of the loss of compression may be the valve. At the top of the cylinder, the exhaust valves and air intake valves can get overheated. When the gas leaks and the valve seals, they become very worn to seal the gas properly and the result is low compression. If one breaks of the valve spring, the valve cannot full close that leading to low compression. There are many solutions to the problem of low compression in a diesel engine. First, it is recommended to replace the leaking part whether it is the piston ring, camshaft, head gasket or valve. Remove the ignition coil and spark plug from the cylinder you are testing. You must buy a compression measure to do a compression test to make sure your engine issues are not from another problem
