In a brief about the project, this project will focus on the structural design of a reinforced concrete tower building, which is a branch of structural engineering, and the importance of this type is represented by the challenges it poses to engineers in wind and earthquake loads, and this work is resorted to in the Gaza Strip to increase the population density compared to the scarcity land Therefore, engineers' resort .to vertical expansion by constructing towers
The building, which is intended to be studied by this study, consists of eleven floors, the ground floor to the fifth with an area of 655.37 m2, the sixth to eleventh floors by an area of 566.77 m2
In this project a building frame structural system is chosen, a space frame of beams and columns to resist gravity loads only, and shear walls for resisting lateral loads in addition to gravity loads.
The work in this project started in the academic year (2021-2022).
For the design of structural elements, the ACI 318-14 Code is used.
For the analysis of wind and earthquake loads the IBC-2015 Code is used.
For the analysis of wind loads the ASCE 7-16 Code is used
For the structural analysis, ETABS 18, SAFE 16, Sap2000,
Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2018, and CSI Column software are used.
For the detailing and drawing, AutoCAD 2018 is used
The first four chapters include a background study that is related to the design
of the Multistory building.
