- using genetic algorithm to solve a multi-objective problem.

- A new bi-level optimization technique is used to optimal allocate VAR sources considering the uncertainties of loads and wind power.

- Minimizing the total cost (VAR sources & operating cost), and maximizing the voltage stability margin (VSM) are the objective, under several constraints.

- A fuzzy min-max method is modified to find the optimum compromise solution.
