Project: $ 23 Billion Qatar Rail-Green Line – Qatar

Position: Engineering and BIM Manager/ Senior Architect - Reporting to the PD

Firm: Hill International (Qatar Metro Green Line)- March ‘15- June 16

"Hill was awarded the PMC contract of Qatar Metro Green Line. The scope of the Green Line D&B contract comprises the design and construction of approximately 15 Km of twin bore metro tunnels, and the following underground structures; seven stations, two Switch Boxes, and a Crossing Box, including miscellaneous Emergency Exits and associated temporary works."

My assignment in the project involved:

•Setting up and monitoring the drawings submittal and review methodology of the Design Drawings and BIM models and the Shop Drawings and IFC BIM models to facilitate monitoring design compatibly, constructability, and meeting the project world standard.

•Setting up and monitoring a Material Selection and Approval Processes in line with the contract, employer’s requirement and best practice to ensure the high quality and feasibility and aesthetics of the selected materials.

•Design the necessary Architectural engineering processes to keep the engineering and procurement keep within financial budgets and deadlines.

•Chairing and preparing minutes of design coordination workshops.

•Chairing and preparing minutes of Architectural Meeting.

•Responding to the contractors’ RFIs in light of the contractual documentation, world standard and best practice.

•Coordinating with employer’s personnel to ensure that the design and construction are in line with the employer’s requirement.

•Acquire, Review and Monitor the contractor’s personnel to prepare any required report such as but not limited to ITT strategy report(s), Mock-ups Tender report and Progress Report, Engineering Progress reports and etc.

•Interviewing and hiring resources for Hill’s Projects in Qatar.
