Section 1:

By now, each group should have their own project. Thinking about this project, discuss in details the following points:

• Initiating process

1. Develop the project charter, including:

a. Description and characteristics

b. Approval requirement

c. Sponsor

2. Identify who are the project stakeholders (direct, indirect), including their interests in and influence on the project.

• Planning process

1. Create the project work breakdown structure (WBS) until you reach the activities level.

2. Then, estimate each activity resources and duration.

Section 2:

You would like to invest your money in a project:

• You will pay for the land cost of your project SAR1m, then you will invest SAR2m for design and construction fees at the beginning of the first year of your project.

• You will let the project to an organization, which will generate a revenue of SAR160,000 at the end of each year.

• The maintenance for the project will cost you SAR10,000 at the end of each year.

• Discounting rate is 5%.

• You need to use the project at the end of 10 years.

a. Based on the net present value, determine the project feasibility.

b. How long is the payback period?

c. What decision will take?
